assessment and accreditation – the missing pieces in the open education world?

Some time ago, I proposed to the United Nations University to become a
global assessment and accreditation provider. While it would have had
to deal with all the same structural problems of assessment, such a service would
have increased the value of existing open education resources to users
tremendously. The UNU was not convinced that it should play this role
at the time.
